Franklin freshman
Emma Tranter made the first weekend of her collegiate career count.
The Brownsburg, Indiana native was voted as the HCAC Player of the Week in women's tennis after leading the Grizzlies through three weekend matches.
Tranter went 2-1 at second singles over the weekend, scoring Franklin's lone point against Trine with a 6-3, 6-7, 10-8 triumph and winning in straight sets against Webster before losing in a third-set tiebreaker against Adrian.
She was also 2-1 in doubles play, teaming with
Ailyn Hendricks to beat Webster 6-1 at No. 1 and pairing with
Eleanor Stillabower to edge Adrian 7-6 at No. 2, helping the team secure a doubles point in each of those matches.
The Grizzlies (1-2) are at Wittenberg for a pair of matches this Saturday.
