NEWS | Scott, McIntosh Claim HCAC Track Athlete of the Week Honors

CARMEL, Ind. - Franklin College sophomore Steven Scott and senior Logan McIntosh performances last weekend earned them this round of Athlete of the Week awards from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC). 

Scott earns himself his third HCAC athlete of the week honor while McIntosh claims his first of his career. 

Men's Throws Athlete of the Week:
Logan McIntosh (Commiskey, Ind.) Franklin College | Throws | Junior - McIntosh won the IN DIII meet on Saturday, throwing a 3M PR of 55.18, distancing second place by nearly 7m and setting a new meet record. The mark of 55.18m now ranks #8 all-time in the HCAC. He currently ranks #2 in the HCAC, #6 GL, #55 NCAA.

Men's Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week:
Steven Scott (Indianapolis, Ind.) Franklin College | Sprints | Sophomore - Scott was a part of not one, but two school records at the IN DIII meet on Saturday. In the 400M dash, he lowered his lifetime PR from 49.46 to 48.96, finishing in a close second and breaking the FC school record of 49.40 from 1966. He later came back to lead off the 4X4 team that also finished in a close second and top HCAC finisher, in a time of 3:20.58 which currently leads the HCAC by 5 secs. That time breaks the oldest FC record on the books of 3:22.50 from 1947. In the 400, Scott now ranks #2 in the HCAC, #13 GL, and #78 NCAA DIII. The 1600 relay ranks #1 HCAC, #10 GL, #58 NCAA.

Both athletes will get back into action this Friday (Apr. 18), when they travel to Rose Hulman for the final regular season meet. Start time for the meet is scheduled for 3:15pm.
