TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Franklin men's track and field team opened the indoor season earlier than usual, as the Grizzlies took a handful of athletes to Rose-Hulman on Saturday for the Fightin' Engineers Invitational.
Leading off the Grizzlies was sophomore
Garek Ellis, claiming seventh with a throw of 11.22 meters (36'9.75"), just missing his personal best.
Freshman
Myles Baker got his collegiate campaign underway, winning the 60-meter dash in 7.08. That mark was a personal best and the third-fastest time in school history.
In the 400, junior
Steven Scott (51.82) and sophomore
Nathan Vujaklija (53.42) were first and fifth, respectively, while besting their season-opening marks from last year.
Franklin is set to return to action on Jan. 16 in the first series of the Friday Night Spikes, also hosted by Rose-Hulman.
