GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Franklin XCTF spent their afternoon at Depauw University (Feb. 15) for the Depauw Indoor Invitational.
The Grizzly men and women finished in fifth with a grand total of 47 and 16 points, respectively.
Women's Results
The field events got started with freshman
Addison Piotrowski opening her collegiate indoor season, placing fifth, 1.38m (4'6.25"). In the weight throw, junior
Victoria Abston tossed a personal best of 11.18m (36'8.25"), good for eighth place.
On the track, freshman
Fiona Sodrel ran a personal best (5:51.42) in the mile, placing fourth. Senior
Ella Bashor rounded out the scoring, setting a season best (11:35.23) in the 3000m, snagging fourth place.
Men's Results
Senior
Tristan Konkler started off the day clearing 1.73m (5'8") to take fourth place. Freshman
Ethan Hochstetler placed eighth in shot put, throwing 12.57m (41' 3").
The men's 400m squad had themselves a night, placing four athletes in the top six. Senior
Luke Paddock won the event (51.34), sophomore
Steven Scott came behind in second (51.71), senior
Logan McIntosh placed third (52.52), and in sixth freshman
Nathan Vujaklija (52.82). Paddock and Scott sit third and sixth on the 400m all time indoor list, respectively. The quad of Scott, Paddock, Vujaklija, and McIntosh would return for the 4x400m relay, placing second, breaking the school record by a tenth of a second, (2:27.58). In the 200m, freshman
Brayden Wilkins secured fourth place, tying the school record (22.88). On the distance side, senior
John Asplund finished fifth in the 3000m (9:02.07).
