Griz Trio Sweeps HCAC Weekly Awards

11/10/2025 2:15:00 PM

Franklin football put up some big numbers in its thrilling 59-57 triple-overtime win over Bluffton on Saturday, and the payoff continued into Monday.

The Grizzlies pulled off a clean sweep of the HCAC's weekly individual awards, with quarterback Marshall Kmiecik being named Offensive Player of the Week, safety Haidyn Bulmer getting Defensive Player of the Week and receiver Jordan Fonda being named Special Teams Player of the Week.

Kmiecik claimed the offensive nod for the third time this season after completing 27 of 42 passes for a career-high 429 yards and six touchdowns, plus a pair of two-point passes in overtime — one to Jace Mohr in the second OT to keep the game alive and another to Jeremy Lee for the winning points in the third. The sophomore also rushed for a team-high 64 yards and a TD.

Bulmer made some big defensive plays in the victory — none bigger than his game-sealing tackle for loss on the final snap of the third overtime. He finished the day with eight tackles (five solo) and also blocked an extra point in the third quarter of regulation.

Fonda got the special teams nod after blocking Bluffton's potential game-winning field goal try in the first overtime. He also had a big day on offense, pulling in a team-best nine catches for 134 yards and two scores.

The Grizzlies will wrap up the 2025 season this Saturday afternoon with the annual Victory Bell game at Hanover.
