TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Franklin track and field teams hit the road on Friday (Jan. 17) night for the first installment of the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Spikes series.
The Grizzly men with 13 points would claim the fourth spot out of six teams.
Women's Results
Senior
Bailey Stamper put together a strong showing in the weight throw, placing sixth with a personal best mark of 11.87m (38'11.5"), claiming tenth on the indoor top-10 list. Stamper also added a seventh place finish in the shot put, tossing 9.24m (30' 3.75").
In the 3,000m, senior
Ella Bashor placed sixth in 12:15.12 followed by freshmen
Fiona Sodrel, who opened up her collegiate campaign with a seventh place finish in 12:15.14.
Men's Results
Sophomore
Steven Scott and senior
Luke Paddock got the scoring started for the Grizzlies, placing, (51.94) and third, (52.51), respectively. With that performance, Scott puts himself fifth all time for the indoor 400m.
Brayden Wilkins started his collegiate indoor career with a pair of fourth place finishes in the 60m, (7.17), and the 200m, (23.45). Those marks putting him third and fifth on the Franklin top-10 list, respectively. In the 3K,
Sam Wilson placed 10
th with a time of 9:22.59.
In the field, senior
Tristan Konkler was fourth in the high jump after clearing 1.75m, (5'8.75"). Sophomore
Max Malone led the throws in the weight throw with a sixth place finish and toss of 13.67m (44'10.25"), putting him seventh all time in the event. Malone would come back later in the shot put to place ninth with a throw of 12.01m (39'5").
