CARMEL, Ind. - A strong start to the outdoor track campaign netted senior
Sarah O'Day the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Track Athlete of the Week award on Monday (Mar. 18) afternoon.
O'Day earned a pair of top-four finishes for the Grizzlies at last weekend's Rose-Hulman Early Bird Meet. On the track, O'Day blazed her way to a second-place finish in the 100m dash in 12.43 seconds, narrowly missing out on a first place finish. O'Day added a fourth-place finish in the long jump, registering a leap of 4.74m.
It marks the third time in O'Day's career that she has earned the league's top weekly honor and first time in 2023-24. She will be back in action with the rest of the Franklin track and field team this coming Saturday (Mar. 23), when the Grizzlies head to Lexington, Ky. for the Transylvania Pioneer Invitational.
