TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Franklin College men's track and field team was back in action on Friday (Jan. 27) night, taking on six other teams at the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Spikes #3 meet.
A whopping 14 different Grizzlies recorded new PRs on the night and Franklin earned 53 points total to place fourth among the seven teams competing.
Freshman
Ezra Baker picked up three new PRs and a pair of point finishes. Baker took fifth in the 60m dash (7.29), eighth in the long jump (6.24m) and recorded a best time of 24.82 in the 200m dash. Fellow freshman
Logan McIntosh hit new PRs in both the 200m (24.08) and the high jump (1.78m), placing sixth in the latter.
Junior
Noah Sigler had a huge night in the field, placing third in the weight throw with a mark of 15.07 and fourth in the shot put with a new PR throw of 13.52m. Sigler's toss in the shot put is the third-best in indoor program history.
In the finals of the 60m hurdles, seniors
Zach Roberts (9.01) and
Nick Patton (9.03) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Luke Paddock placed fifth in the 400m in 53.37 and
Eli Cochrane placed sixth in the 800m in 2:01.62. The 4x400m relay of Paddock, McIntosh, Cochrane and
Drew McGaha took third with a time of 3:32.66.

Next up for the Grizzlies is a trip to Angola, Ind. on Feb. 4 for the Dick Gollnick Invitational, hosted by Trine University.
