RECAP | Men's Track & Field Resumes Indoor Season on Saturday

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Franklin women's track and field team returned to indoor competition on Saturday (Jan. 14) afternoon, taking part in the Robert H. Johnson Open, hosted by Wabash College.
 
No scores were kept at the event, which featured six other programs from Division III and the NAIA competing.
 
The top finisher on the day for the Griz was senior Nick Patton, who brought home a runner-up finish in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.01 seconds. Fellow senior Zach Roberts placed fourth in the finals of the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.32 seconds and sophomore Drew McGaha matched that finish in the 800m run with a time of 2:01.01.
 
Other notable finishes saw Luke Paddock take fifth in the 400m dash in 53.82, John Asplund take sixth in the 3000 meter run in 9:20.19 and Andre Davis place sixth in the mile in 5:00.50.
 
In the field events, Tristan Konkler was the top finisher with a fourth place finish in the high jump after clearning the 1.75m mark. In the throw, junior Noah Sigler placed third in the weight throw (14.50m) and seventh in the shot put (12.36m).
 
The Grizzlies are back in action next Saturday (Jan. 21), traveling to Cincinnati, Ohio for the Mount St. Joseph Invitational.
