Box Score GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The Franklin College softball team took on #9-ranked DePauw University in a single non-conference game on Thursday (Apr. 7) afternoon.
The Grizzlies (8-9) took an early lead against the Tigers (18-6) but the home side would strike for 10 runs in the third en route to an 11-3 DePauw win in five innings. 
Franklin took the lead in the top of the third on a sac fly from senior Makiah Thomas and they added a run in the fourth on an Annie Kluemper single and another in the fifth on an error. But the damage was done in the third with two DePauw home runs accounting for seven of their runs in the frame. 
Sydney Bostic was the lone Grizzly to record multiple hits, picking up two of Franklin's six base knocks in the game. Stephanni Kleber (2-5) got the start and tossed 2.1 innings, striking out a pair. 
The Grizzlies resume conference play on Sunday (Apr. 10), when they host the Mount St. Joseph Lions. First pitch from Behrens Field is set for 1:00 p.m.
