Jaylee Fansler made a massive impact in her first season with Franklin softball, and she continues to reap the rewards.
On Friday, the sophomore second baseman was named to the NFCA All-Region VIII first team, the latest honor for the Bainbridge, Indiana native after she earned first team All-HCAC recognition earlier in the week.
Fansler batted a team-high .464 for the Grizzlies this spring, clubbing six home runs and driving in 40 runs while scoring 53. She added 13 doubles for a .744 slugging percentage and drew 24 walks against just eight strikeouts to boost her on-base percentage to .539. She ranked among the HCAC leaders in every major offensive category.
Her efforts helped Franklin to a 30-12 overall record and a 14-4 mark in conference play, getting the Griz their first-ever share of the HCAC regular-season championship and the No. 1 seed in the league's tournament.
