Box Score 2 ANDERSON, Ind. – The Franklin College softball team played their final two road games of the regular season on Tuesday (Apr. 26) afternoon with a pair of conference matchups against the Anderson Ravens on tap.
The Grizzlies (19-14, 10-4 HCAC) reached double digit conference wins for the first time since 2019 after taking a 6-3 win in the opener. Anderson (7-25, 3-11 HCAC) gained a measure of revenge in game two, earning a split with a 9-3 victory.
Game One: Franklin 6 – Anderson 3
An Anderson defensive miscue led to the first two runs of the game scoring in the first, with Sydney Rodeghier and Annie Kluemper coming in for the game's first two runs. Two innings later, Franklin brought home three more with a Genesis Munoz lead-off home run followed by a Shelby Crockett RBI single and a two-run single from Makiah Thomas stretching the lead to 6-0.
Anderson got on the board with a run in the fifth and two in the seventh before the Grizzlies closed things out.
Sydney Pitts (10-3) went the distance in the circle, allowing two earned runs on eight hits with one walk and a career-high six strikeouts. Thomas, Rodeghier and Makayla Plymale had three hits each, with the offense recording 16 base knocks in the contest.
Game Two: Anderson 9 – Franklin 3
Molly Wallace opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first but the Grizzlies' lead was quickly erased by a six-run Raven first inning that the hosts rode to victory. Wallace and Kluemper drove in runs with singles in the fifth inning to cap the scoring for Franklin.
