FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Franklin College women's tennis team brought their 2021-22 campaign to a close on Sunday (Apr. 10) afternoon with a 7-2 home win over the Manchester Spartans.
The Grizzlies close out the campaign with a 4-7 record and a second win over the Spartans during this year's slate of competitions.
Franklin jumped out to a big lead early, taking the three doubles competitions with ease. The #1 team of Emma Foley and Claire Cherry earned an 8-3 victory followed by an 8-4 win for the #2 pairing of Kinley Harmon and Madison Pifer, as well as an 8-0 win from the #3 team of Samantha Schick and Sydney Carson.
The Grizzlies went on to take all four of their points in singles play in straight sets. Foley and Cherry recorded identical 6-3, 6-0 wins from the #1 and #3 singles spots, followed by a 6-0, 6-0 win by Schick at #4 singles and a 7-5, 6-0 win from Carson at #5 singles.
