NEWS | Wiley, Desenberg Earn Weekly HCAC Honors

CARMEL, Ind. - Franklin College senior Zak Wiley and junior Lex Desenberg were honored by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) on Monday (Mar. 28) afternoon.

Wiley earned HCAC Male Field Athlete of the Week with his performance at last weekend's Hanover Invitational. Wiley would add a runner-up finish in the discus with a throw of 42.71 meters, setting a new season-best mark in the process.

Desenberg put together a pair of strong showings for the Grizzly women to earn HCAC Female Track Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career. The Warsaw, Ind.-native was a winner by .01 seconds in the 400m dash at the Hanover Invite, hitting the finish line in 1:05.39 that also set a new PR. Desenberg added a fourth-place finish in the 200m dash in 29.37, coming within .03 seconds of matching her PR in that event.

Both Grizzlies are set to compete this Saturday (Apr. 2) afternoon at the 2022 Grizzly Invitational, held at Grizzly Park in Franklin. Start time is set for 11:30 a.m.
