Box Score TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Franklin College men's basketball team closed out the regular season on Friday (Feb. 18) night, taking on the Rose-Hulman Engineers.
Senior Matt Krause had a team-high 18 points for the Grizzlies (11-14, 7-11 HCAC) but Franklin couldn't overcome an offensive flurry from the Engineers (14-9, 10-7 HCAC) in the second half with Rose winning 86-60.
How it Happened
The two teams spent the first eight minutes battling for position, and the Grizzlies trailed by just a point at 12-11 with 12:50 to play in the first half after a Lynn King layup. But a 10-0 Rose run would follow and put the Engineers up double figures and Franklin spent the rest of the half playing catch-up, eventually heading into the break trailing 40-30.
The Grizzlies got the deficit down to 55-48 with 12 minutes to go in the game following a bucket from King, but a 21-4 outburst from the Engineers followed and put the game out of reach.
