LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Franklin College men's cross country team got back on the course after a week away from competition, taking on a massive field at Saturday's (Oct. 1) Greater Louisville Classic at Tom Sawyer Park.
Taking on their largest field of the season, the Grizzlies finished 25
th out of 45 teams total.
Sophomore
John Asplund was brilliant for the Grizzlies, finishing 24
th overall and setting a new personal best 8K time with a mark of 26:05.3. Junior
Jack Sells was second on the Grizzlies and 158
th overall with a time of 27:45.7. One spot back of him in 159
th was sophomore
Elliott Gough, who clocked in just behind his teammate in 27:46.3.
A pair of freshmen rounded out Franklin's top-five on the day, with
Riley Devening placing 183
rd in 27:58.7 and
Trevor Newby finishing 187
th with a time of 28:04.1.

The Grizzlies are off for two weeks before getting back at it on Oct. 15 for their final race of the regular season. Franklin will compete in the Inter-Region Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio.
