LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Franklin College women's tennis team started a two-match conference road trip on Sunday (Apr. 18) afternoon for a matchup with the Transylvania Pioneers.
Franklin (3-4, 1-2 HCAC) saw their brief two-match winning streak halted by the Pioneers (5-1, 3-0 HCAC) with the hosts claiming an 8-1 win.
The lone Grizzly to earn a point on the day was freshman Samantha Schick, with the Indianapolis, Ind.-native claiming a thrilling 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 10-7 victory over her opponent at No. 6 singles. Schick is now a perfect 3-0 in singles competition as a rookie. The rest of the results can be found below.
Franklin plays their final road match of the spring season next Saturday (Apr. 24) when they travel to Rose-Hulman. First serve is set for 10:00 a.m.
