NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Franklin College women's tennis team claimed their first conference win of the spring, taking down the Manchester Spartans by a 7-2 score on Sunday (Apr. 11) afternoon.
Four different Grizzlies (2-3, 1-1 HCAC) recorded two wins on Sunday afternoon with Maecee Terhune, Caitlin Fedor, Addie Rund and Kinley Harmon all earning wins in both singles and doubles play.
Franklin's No. 2 doubles team of Terhune and Fedor rolled to an 8-0 victory, a score matched by Harmon and Rund in the No. 3 doubles matchup.
The Grizzlies swept the 2-6 singles matches, with Harmon and Claire Cherry earning identical 6-0, 6-0 wins from the No. 5 and No. 6 spots in the lineup. Fedor was a 6-4, 6-0 winner in the second spot in the lineup, Terhune claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win in the third position and Rund was a 6-0, 7-5 winner in #4 singles competition.
Franklin returns to action at home this coming Tuesday (Apr. 13) afternoon for a non-conference matchup with Ohio Christian University. First serve from Grizzly Park is set for 4:00 p.m.
