LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Franklin College men's basketball team remained perfect in competitions away from home with a 64-55 triumph over Spalding University on Wednesday (Dec. 8) night. 

The Grizzlies (4-2) led for the bulk of the contest, holding off a second half rally from the Golden Eagles (2-6) to move to 4-0 in contests outside of the Spurlock Center this year. 

Matt Krause stepped up with a season-high 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to record his third double-double of the year. Mitch O'Mara added 16 points in the game and the FC defense held Spalding to 36.5% from the field in the victory.

How it Happened
Spalding's only lead of the night came with a free throw that opened the scoring, with Franklin immediately taking the lead after and holding it the rest of the night. The Grizzlies held Spalding without a field goal for the first 7:10 of game action and led by as many as 10 points in the first 20 minutes before taking a 32-23 lead into the locker room.

The Golden Eagles got the Franklin lead down to two points early in the second half, before a 7-0 Grizzly run midway through the half stretched the lead into double figures. The Grizzlies got clutch baskets and key free throws down the stretch to close things out.

-Spalding's 36.5% shooting percentage is a season-low for any Franklin opponent.
-Franklin connected on 42.3% (22-for-52) of their attempts, going 8-for-22 from three and 12-for-16 from the free throw line.
-Junior Carter Crowe and freshman Lynn King made their first starts of the season. Crowe had five points and a career-high eight rebounds.
-The Grizzlies won the rebounding battle 38-36.
