CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) released its volleyball all-conference teams and major award winners on Tuesday (Nov. 2) afternoon. Three members of the Franklin volleyball team earned all-conference accolades, with two collecting honors for the first time.
Freshman outside hitter Miranda Wilson earned First Team All-HCAC and was one of six players named to the league's All-Newcomer Team. Senior libero Allison Thompson and junior setter Billie Jarrett joined their teammate, picking up honorable mention all-conference honors.
Wilson turned in an outstanding rookie campaign for the Grizzlies, leading the team with 316 kills while with a .168 attacking percentage over 25 matches. The Indianapolis, Ind.-native reached double-digit kill totals in 19 matches, reaching a career-best 24 on two separate occasions.
Thompson picked up her second career all-conference honor after suiting up in all 26 contests for the Grizzlies at the libero position. Thompson led the FC back line with 431 digs and tied for the team lead in aces with Maddie Holubik with 27. The spring 2021 HCAC Defensive Player of the Year ended her career with 1,495 digs and 110 service aces.
Jarrett collected her first career all-conference nod after a solid season running the Franklin offense as the primary setter. The Speedway, Ind.-native handed out 850 assists while adding 301 digs, 75 kills, 24 aces and 16 blocks while starting all 26 matches.
