RECAP | Women's Tennis Rolls Past Manchester on Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Franklin College women's tennis team was back on the court on Sunday (Apr. 7) afternoon, taking on Manchester University in a non-conference meeting at Indy Racquet Club East.

The Grizzlies (9-4) made quick work of the Spartans for the second time this year, rolling to a 9-0 victory. Franklin's top doubles team of Karen Dringenburg and Maddie Bright took home an 8-3 victory and were followed by an 8-0 win from Holyn Eldridge and Alexa Schofner at the second doubles spot. Brianna Hutton and Grace Otte cruised to an 8-1 win in a meeting of the No. 3 doubles teams.

Franklin claimed all six singles matches in straight sets, starting with Dringenburg's 6-2, 6-0 win at the top position. Eldridge followed with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 win from the second spot and Schofner added a 6-1, 6-1 win from the third position.

Bright was a 6-2, 6-0 winner in the No. 4 spot, Hutton earned a 6-3, 6-1 win in the No. 5 spot and Maddie Pifer closed out the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 6 position.

The Grizzly women close out their schedule next Saturday (Apr. 13), when they head north to take on Anderson University. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m.
