RECAP | Grizzlies Drop Saturday Morning Showdown at Transylvania

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Franklin women's tennis team resumed conference play on Saturday afternoon, heading south for a meeting with the Transylvania Pioneers.

Less than 24 hours after winning their last match, the Grizzlies (4-5, 3-3 HCAC) were denied a second straight win by the Pioneers (5-1, 5-0 HCAC) remained unbeaten in league play with a 9-0 win.

The Pioneers took all three doubles contests by a combined score of 24-6 with points coming from the duos of Madison Pifer and Kinley Harmon at the second pair, as well as Alayna Munson and Sydney Logsdon at the No. 3 doubles spot.

Singles competition resulted in six straight-set wins for Transy, keeping them in lock-step with Anderson for the top spot in the conference entering the final week of competition.

Franklin opens their final week of regular season competition next Friday (Oct. 11) night, hosting Rose-Hulman in their final home match of the fall. First serve from the Mickel-Hoover Tennis Complex is set for 6:00 p.m.
