RECAP | Grizzlies Drop Regular Season Finale to Rose-Hulman

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin women's tennis team wrapped up their fall regular season on Sunday (Oct. 13) afternoon, taking on Rose-Hulman at the Mickel-Hoover Tennis Complex.

Four different Grizzlies (5-7, 4-4 HCAC) registered points on Sunday but the Engineers (7-4, 5-2 HCAC) were able to get the better of the home team, taking a 6-3 decision.

In doubles play, the Grizzlies got on the board thanks to an 8-5 win from Emma Foley and Addie Rund playing from the No. 3 position. The other two matchups were battles on the court, but the Engineers were able to take each point from the top-two positions to take a one-point lead into singles play.

Alayna Munson rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win from the No. 4 position while Sydney Logsdon was a 6-0, 6-0 winner from the No. 6 spot. But each of the final four singles matches went the way of Rose, all in straight sets.

The Grizzlies will enter the 2019 HCAC Tournament as the No. 5 seed and will have a rematch with the Engineers in the opening round. Franklin and Rose-Hulman will meet on Friday (Oct. 18) night at the Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville, Ky.
