RECAP | Women's Tennis Stays Perfect in 2018, Handles Anderson on Homecoming

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College women's tennis team kept their perfect fall record intact with a 7-2 win over Anderson University on Saturday (Sept. 29) morning at the Mickel-Hoover Tennis Complex.

The Grizzlies (5-0, 4-0 HCAC) wasted no time getting a jump on the Ravens (2-4, 1-2 HCAC), taking all three doubles matches. Franklin's top tandem of Karen Dringenburg and Maddie Bright improved to 4-0 as a team this fall with an 8-6 victory. Franklin's No. 2 team of Holyn Eldridge and Alexa Schofner were 8-2 winners, a score matched by FC's No. 3 team of Grace Otte and Brianna Hutton.

The senior trio of Dringenburg, Eldridge and Schofner all stayed perfect in singles play with wins in the 1-3 spots. Dringenburg was a 6-2, 6-0 victor at the top of the lineup, followed by Eldridge's 6-0, 6-2 win. Schofner needed three sets to earn her second point of the day, rallying from a set down for a 2-6, 6-1, 10-4 win.

Freshman Maddie Bright closed out the list of Franklin winners with a 6-3, 6-3 win at the No. 4 singles spot.
