Softball Splits with HCAC Rival at Home

FRANKLIN, IND. (April 26, 2017) – Franklin College softball splits doubleheader at home against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Hanover College.

The Grizzlies started off strong in game one defeating the Panthers 9-4. Franklin's defense stood tough holding Hanover to four runs on nine hits. At the plate the team totaled 10 hits and 7 RBIs. 

Pitcher Kayla Selzer earned the win for Franklin, while Bailey Lindamood recorded the save.

Alexis Tarver finished with two hits on four at bats along with three RBIs, including a homerun. First baseman Savannah Blevins also added a homerun. Right fielder Megan Lalioff and catcher Taylor Johnson each posted two hits on three at bats for the Grizzlies.  

Hanover edged Franklin 7-6 in game two of the series despite an impressive 16 hit performance. Alexis Tarver added another homerun in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The Grizzlies travel to Mount Saint Joseph Friday for another Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match up.
