Box Score 2 BLUFFTON, Ohio. (April 15, 2017) – The Franklin College softball team split a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent Bluffton University.
Franklin lost the first game 5-2 but regrouped to win the second 8-5.
In the first game, Franklin led 1-0 after the first inning but was outscored 5-1 the rest of the way. The Grizzlies combined for five hits in the game.
Franklin's bats were more productive in Game 2. The Grizzlies led 3-1 after the first inning and never looked back. They combined for nine hits, with left fielder Grace Paszek leading the way with a 3 for 4 performance at the plate that included two RBIs.
Designated player Alexis Tarver was 1 of 3, including a double, and two RBIs, and Collins was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Pitcher Bailey Lindamood wroked 6-1/3 innings and picked up the win. Kayla Selzer worked the final two-thirds inning and picked up the save.
With the split, the Grizzlies are 19-11 overall and 4-1 in the HCAC. They play again April 19 in a home doubleheader against Anderson. Game times are 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.
