Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind -- Franklin College men's basketball tream dropped its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference home match up Saturday afternoon against Mount St. Joseph, 86-74.
The Grizzlies (4-8 overall, 1-4 HCAC) suffered their third straight loss after giving up a 46-40 halftime lead over the Lions. Franklin started strong, shooting 48.4 percent from the field as a team in the first half. But the Grizzlies struggled in the second, shooting only 29.4 percent from the floor. The Grizzlies were big on the boards, however, outrebounding the Lions 45-26.
Franklin was led offensively by seniors Aaron Mann and Robbie Prather with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Freshman Braxton Day contributed 13 points and six rebounds.
The Lions (10-3, 5-1 HCAC) were led by Adam Goetz with a game-high 28 points and five assists. Offensive efficiency keyed Mt. Joseph, which shot an impressive 53.6 percent from the field. Erik Edwards (13 points), Andrew Finely (15) and Jake Cropper (17) were all in double figures for the Lions.
Franklin will be back on the road Wednesday night at HCAC rival Transylvania. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
