Box Score ANDERSON, IND. – Franklin College men's basketball falls in a one point heartbreaker to Anderson University Saturday afternoon with a final score of 102-101.
The Grizzlies fought until the very end in a back and forth brawl against the Ravens with Blake Oakley hitting a last second three-pointer to come up just one point short. Statistically, Franklin was impressive offensively shooting 58.1% from the field and 52.9% from behind the arc as a team. However, the team struggled to limit Anderson's starting lineups offensive attack who finished with 91 of Anderson's 102 total points.
Junior John Beineke led the Grizzlies finishing with 29 points and 6 rebounds. Senior Aaron Mann recorded 26 points and 7 rebounds, while Robbie Prather contributed 12 points respectively.
Anderson's starting five featured an impressive scoring attack with four players scoring in double-digits. Stanley Duncan led the way with a game high 40 points. Duncan recorded 5 three-pointers and 17 free throws in his efforts. Trevor Lucas (18), Brett Anderson (14), and Nathaniel Acree (10) also contributed double figures for the Ravens.
Men's Basketball is back at home next Wednesday January 18th against conference rival Hanover College, tip-off set for 7:30 pm.
