Terre Haute, Ind. - Franklin College sophomores Karen Dringenburg and Rachel Rose teamed up for a victory on the No. 1 court to lead the women's tennis team during a road loss to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play on Wednesday.
Rose-Hulman (3-0, 2-0 HCAC) took a 2-1 lead after doubles with victories on the No. 2 and 3 courts. The Fightin' Engineers won all six singles matches, including two contests in three sets.
Dringenburg and Rose earned an 8-6 triumph at the top of the doubles lineup. Dringenburg lost a three-set singles match on the No. 1 court. Junior Megan Battles lost a hard-fought three-set singles match on No. 4 court.
Franklin (1-2, 1-1 HCAC) hosts Transylvania University in HCAC action on Saturday, September 17 at 11 a.m. The team also hosts Oakland City University at 2 p.m. Both matches will take place at the Mickel-Hoover Tennis Complex.
