Balanced Scoring Effort Leads Men's Basketball to Second Straight Win

Temple Terrace, Fl. – Franklin College men's basketball wins their second game of the year 88-84 against Florida College Monday, November 21 bringing the team to a 2-0 start.

The Grizzlies continued a well-rounded offensive front Monday night with all five starters scoring in double figures. Leading the way for the Grizzlies, all with 19 points, were sophomore Blake Oakley, senior Aaron Mann, and senior Robbie Prather. Prather finished the game shooting 60% from the field with 4 three pointers for Franklin. Along with Mann's 19 points, he also added 5 rebounds on the night. Junior John Beineke added 13 points and 7 rebounds, while senior Brett McCory tallied 12 points.

Florida College's Jordan Benjamin scored a game-high 25 points and 11 rebounds. Zach Brock and Dustin Dunham also contributed for the Falcons with 12 points and 11 points respectively. Florida College finished the night shooting 53.6% from the field, but it wasn't enough to overcome the 17 turnovers they gave up to the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies hope to continue their winning streak tonight at NCAA Division II Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida with tip-off set for 7:30 pm.
