Women's Tennis Ends Season with Loss in HCAC Semifinals

Indianapolis, Ind. - The Franklin College women's tennis team ended its 2016 fall season with a 5-2 loss to No. 2 seed Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the semifinals of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday from the West Indy Racquet Club.

The Grizzlies (7-6) trailed 2-1 after doubles with an 8-6 triumph on the No. 3 court by junior Jessica Baker and sophomore Holyn Eldridge.

Sophomore Alexa Schofner dropped only three games in earning a singles victory on the No. 4 court. Rose-Hulman recorded straight-set wins at the top three singles positions to secure the victory.

Franklin reached the semifinals after a 5-0 victory against Transylvania University on Friday.
