Box Score Franklin, Ind. - Franklin College senior Audrey Wilson (Tipton, Ind./Tipton) and sophomore Hannah Grow (Morton, Ill./Morton) each scored a pair of goals in leading the Franklin College women's lacrosse team in a hard-fought 12-5 loss to Mount St. Joseph University on Sunday from Faught Stadium.
Sophomore Kayanna Wolter (Greensburg, Ind./Greensburg) recorded a career-high 14 saves, including stopping five of nine free position shot opportunities. The goalkeeper tallied 27 saves in the two matches this weekend.
Franklin scored four straight goals to take a 4-3 lead late in the first half. Grow got the rally started when junior Paige Clark (Jefferson, Ohio/Jefferson Area) helped set up the scoring chance. Wilson brought the Grizzlies within 3-2 with an unassisted goal later it in the period. Clark found the back of the net off a pass from junior Presleigh Hobbs (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove).
The hosts took the lead on an unassisted goal from Grow.
MSJ answered with three goals in the final 10 minutes of the period to hold a 6-4 lead at halftime.
Wilson scored her second goal of the match in the second half.
Defensively, sophomore Lexi Ingram (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) led the team with three caused turnovers. She also won a match-high three draws. Juniors Emily Erlenbaugh (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) and Megan Rhotan (Blackford, Ind./Hartford City), sophomore Alysia Funderburg (La Puente, Calif./Walnut) and freshman Morgan McIntosh (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) each recorded two caused turnovers.
Franklin returns to action when it hosts Hanover College on Tuesday, March 24 at 7 p.m. from Faught Stadium. Live video of the match will be available.
