Angola, Ind. - The Franklin College women's basketball team lost its 2015-16 season opener at Trine University 69-58 on Sunday afternoon.

The Thunder used an 11-2 run early in the fourth quarter to build a 57-45 lead.

Trine led 15-10 after the first quarter and held a 30-29 halftime advantage.

Junior Kayle Comer (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) scored a team-high 14 points, while senior Katie Brewer (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) added 10 points and seven rebounds.

Freshman Mattyson Robison (Frankfort, Ind./Clinton Prairie) had seven points off the bench.

Franklin returns to action on Friday, November 20, at 8 p.m. when it competes at the Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament at Wilmington College against DePauw University. The Grizzlies will also face Wilmington on Saturday, November 21, at 3 p.m.
