Owen Wright missed most of the 2025 football season because of injury. He didn't need much time this season to shake off the rust.

The senior wide receiver delivered a loud re-entry in Franklin's season opener, making seven catches — including a couple of the highlight-reel variety — for 109 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-31 home win over North Park.

Wright, a product of nearby Greenwood, Indiana, got his day started with an impressive 31-yard grab in traffic to convert a fourth-and-14 situation during the second quarter. Later in that period, he made three catches for 37 yards during a Griz scoring drive, pulling in a 12-yard throw from Marshall Kmiecik to even the game at 14-14.

In the third period, Wright caught a 2-yard scoring toss that gave Franklin a 21-17 advantage. His final TD, which came with 5:05 to go in the game, capped off a 99-yard drive with what proved to be the winning points.

The Grizzlies will be back in action this Saturday evening at Butler.
