The good news for Franklin women's soccer? Its three-match goal-scoring drought ended in fine fashion.
The bad news was that Asbury scored a few more.
The visiting Grizzlies answered each of the Eagles' first two tallies, but the home side responded to the second game-tying goal with a three-goal flurry over the next two and a half minutes to pull away for a 5-2 win.
After falling behind 1-0 midway through the 30th minute, Franklin (2-5-1) drew even two minutes later when
Hanna Maudlin put away her first collegiate goal. The match remained even through the end of the first half, with each side putting five shots on goal.
Asbury reclaimed the upper hand with 31:55 left in the match, but the Grizzlies again answered quickly, with
Lauren Barker netting her second goal of the season off an
Amirah Curry assist with 28:05 to go.
Less than a minute later, the Eagles scored the first of their three goals in a 2:28 span to quickly put away any hopes of a Griz comeback.

Abi Medaugh finished with eight saves for the Grizzlies, who wound up being outshot 24-9 overall.
Franklin opens its HCAC schedule on Saturday with a 1 p.m. home match against rival Hanover.
