Franklin women's basketball standouts
Jordan Coon and
Molly Schulte had an outstanding season on the court — and they're equally sharp in the classroom.
On Tuesday, the two guards were among those named to the CSC Academic All-District team.
Schulte, a sophomore from Rockport, Indiana, has a 3.94 grade-point average; Coon, a senior from Evansville, Indiana, is close behind at 3.92.
Both players were pivotal parts of a Griz team that finished the year with a 21-7 record and reached the championship game of the HCAC tournament. Coon was a first team all-conference performer who led the team in scoring with 17.3 points per game, while Schulte started all 28 games and averaged 10.5 points while ranking second on the team with 85 assists.
Coon was also tabbed as a finalist for Academic All-America honors; that team will be announced at a later date.
