Franklin women's tennis had not won in its last 17 matches against Hanover and hadn't topped the Panthers in HCAC play since 2012.
On Saturday afternoon, both of those dry spells ended.
Brenna Atchison's 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles finished things off as the Grizzlies pulled out a 4-3 victory in the annual rivalry match.
The Grizzlies (8-7) started the match off by taking the doubles point.
Ailyn Hendricks and
Emma Tranter earned a 6-3 victory at No. 1, with Atchison and
Reagan Cox teaming up for a 6-4 win in the third spot.
Cox added a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles. The match then turned when Tranter gutted out a 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 marathon at No. 2 singles, setting the stage for Atchison to close it out.
Franklin will be at home again this coming Saturday (March 21) against Anderson.
