MIDWAY, Ky. - The Franklin men's volleyball team continued a five-game road trip on Wednesday (Mar. 20) night, taking on the Midway Eagles in the first of two matchups between the two programs. 

The Grizzlies (2-6) couldn't make it back-to-back wins for the first time in program history, as the Eagles (2-12) claimed a win in straight sets, 25-13, 25-23, 25-15. 

Jonathan McCoy led the Grizzlies with nine kills but the offense struggled to find their footing all night, finishing with 20 kills to 20 attacking errors. Gustavo Cornelius, Jackson Hedges and Tiki Johnson all added three kills in support. Johnson led the team with 11 assists and tied for the team lead with five digs. Simon Hmung also had five digs and added five assists and a pair of aces from the libero spot. Cornelius and Wyatt Biggs led the net-front defense with two blocks each. 

Franklin is off until Saturday, Mar. 29, when they head back to Greenville, Ill. for a tri-match featuring Greenville and UHSP. First serve of game one is set for 2:00 p.m. eastern time.
