Franklin swimming and diving dominated its competition over the weekend. On Tuesday, the Grizzlies did the same thing when it came to the HCAC's weekly awards.

The Griz went a perfect 4 for 4, with juniors Zachary Jackson-Blaine and Avery Tomlinson being named the conference's male and female Swimmer of the Week and Phoenix Simons and Kaleigh Schuler earning Diver of the Week recognition.

Jackson-Blaine dominated the 50-yard freestyle in Saturday's double dual meet against Transylvania and Pikeville, hitting the wall in 21.15 seconds to win by more than 1.6 seconds. In addition, he led a 1-2-3 Franklin finish in the 100 freestyle, clocking in at 48 seconds even, and also anchored the winning 400 medley relay.

Tomlinson headed up a Grizzly sweep in the 200 individual medley, posting a time of 2:19.27, then won decisively in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.86) and swam the breast leg on the victorious 400 medley relay.

Schuler finished first on the 1-meter diving board with a score of 234.70, and she was narrowly defeated on the 3-meter by teammate Alexis Fleming, 236.30 to 225.60.

Simons was a winner on the 1-meter board with 168.65 points and placed a close second on the 3-meter with a score of 175.75.

The Grizzlies are back in action this weekend when they travel to Wabash for the Gail Pebworth Invitational.
