Women's Cross Country Battles Heat in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Franklin women's cross country team battled the heat at Tom Sawyer Park, which will serve as the home course for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.

The Grizzlies finished 47th of the 49-team field on the 6-kilometer course.

Leading the charge was senior Wynn Wellington, who finished in 286th with a time of 26:41.1. Following Wellington was freshman Ariana Sheckler in 298th (27:17.5). Junior Elliot Taylor was next, placing 310th in 28:49.9, while freshman Alora Coble ran a 30:00.00, good enough for 314th. Rounding out the scoring for the women was sophomore Bailee Kennedy in 320nd (38:37.2). 

Franklin returns to action at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Oct. 18. Start time for the first race is set for 10:30 a.m.
