Franklin women's soccer ended its scoring drought on Saturday afternoon, but the goal came a little too late in a 3-1 loss at Anderson.
The Ravens took an early lead on Kyndall Ferguson's goal in the eighth minute, but the Grizzlies avoided any more damage before intermission, going into the break down just one.
Anderson struck quickly after the break, though, getting its second goal just 1:45 into the second half. The home side added an insurance tally late in the 71st minute before Franklin averted a shutout when
Courtney Tsamba found the net with 4:32 to go in the match.
Madison Hill and
Emma Myers also put shots on frame in the second half for the Grizzlies, who were outshot 24-11 in all and 10-3 in shots on goal.
Grace Williams made seven saves in the loss.
Franklin (1-10-1, 0-4 HCAC) continues a four-game stretch of road matches when it plays at Manchester on Wednesday afternoon.
