DECATUR, Ill. – The Franklin volleyball team wrapped up their weekend trip to Illinois on Saturday (Sept. 21), taking on Illinois College on day two of the Millikin Invitational.
The Grizzlies (6-10) fell in straight sets to the Lady Blues (6-7), with Illinois College taking the match 25-21, 25-18, 25-16.
Kaitlyn Lavy paced a Franklin attack with five kills, with the Grizzlies hitting .076 for the day while the Lady Blues swung at a .277 clip. Lavy also topped the team with four aces, followed by three aces from
Brionna Linkel. Linkel added 13 assists and added five digs while
Charlotte Goto's six digs were tops on the squad.
Franklin is off until Oct. 2, when they are back at home against the Wilmington Quakers. First serve from the Spurlock Center is set for 6:00 p.m.
