FRANKLIN – The Franklin College men's soccer team returned to action on their home turf on Saturday (Sept. 21) night, hosting the Otterbein Cardinals at Faught Stadium.
The Grizzlies (0-6-1) dropped their meeting with the Cardinals (4-3), as two early Otterbein goals set the tone for a 3-0 win for the away side.
Otterbein scored off crossing feeds in both the sixth and 22
nd minutes, respectively. Franklin had a handful of quality chances in the opening half, but couldn't find the final touch to get on the board before the break. The second half saw Otterbein out-shoot the Grizzlies 8-1 and add an insurance marker in the 85
th minute.
Shot attempts were 17-6 in the Cardinals' favor, with
Theo Sasso leading Franklin's attack with three shot attempts and a pair of shots on target.
Ian Rowe finished the night with four saves in the Franklin goal.
