FRANKLIN – The Franklin women's soccer team opened a three-game homestand on Wednesday (Sept. 11) night, hosting Spalding University under the Faught Stadium lights.
The Grizzlies (0-3-2) dropped their second match in a row, with the Golden Eagles (2-1-1) taking a 2-0 decision.
The game was locked in a scoreless draw until the 44
th minute, when the Golden Eagles capitalized on a rebound to net the opener. Spalding added a second in the 83
rd minute off a scramble from a corner kick and the Grizzlies were unable to find an answer.

Makenna Mundy was brilliant in goal for the Grizzlies, stopping eight shot attempts on the night.
Franklin continues their homestand on Saturday (Sept. 14) afternoon, hosting Saint Mary's (Ind.) at 2:30 p.m.
