LOUISVILLE, Ky. – It was opening night on Friday (Aug. 30) for the Franklin men's soccer team, as they faced off with Centre College in the opener of the JR Hoe Invitational, hosted by Spalding University.
The Grizzlies (0-1) found an equalizer early in the second half, but the Colonels (1-0) would answer shortly after and add an insurance goal late in the game to take it by a 3-1 count.
How it Happened
Down by a goal at halftime, Franklin drew even in the 54
th minute with
Theo Sasso stepping into a free kick and lacing the ball into the top corner to make it a 1-1 game. But the Grizzlies coughed up the eventual game-winner in the 56
th minute and Centre added a third in the 77
th to cap the scoring.
