RECAP | Women's Basketball Celebrates Senior Night in Style, Roll to Win Over Manchester

FRANKLIN – The Franklin women's basketball team secured a winning season on Wednesday (Feb. 7) night, one of several highlights in the Grizzlies' 80-57 win over Manchester in the Spurlock Center.

Prior to the start of the game, the Grizzlies (14-8, 9-6 HCAC) honored seniors CiCi Bailey, Kayla Bruner and student assistant Chelbie Anderson on Senior Night. When the action tipped off, Franklin led the Spartans (6-16, 3-12 HCAC) for all but 1:08 of game time in an 80-57 win.

How it Happened
The Grizzlies wasted little time putting the game out of reach, ripping off an 18-1 run in the first quarter that turned a 5-4 deficit into a 22-6 lead later in the opening period. Franklin's lead would grow to as many as 22 before the end of the first half, with the hosts taking a 43-24 lead into the locker room.

Manchester would get the Franklin lead down to as little as 12 in the second half, but a dominant fourth quarter from the home side led to an easy win for the Grizzlies.

-Franklin's offense turned in a stellar shooting performance, going 50% (27-for-54) from the floor, 11-for-25 from three and 15-for-19 from the line.
-Jordan Coon had another massive game for the Grizzlies, going for 28 points and setting a new career-high with six three-pointers.
