RICHMOND, Ind. – The Franklin women's basketball team extended their winning streak to three games on Saturday (Feb. 10), picking up a 78-61 road win over Earlham.
The Grizzlies (15-8, 10-6 HCAC) put the game out of reach with a dominant third quarter, out-scoring Earlham (5-16, 3-13 HCAC) 27-12 in the period to pull away with the victory.
How it Happened
Defense dictated the first half action, with each team shooting under 40% from the floor in the opening 20 minutes and Franklin taking a 29-27 lead into the break.
The Grizzlies put their foot on the gas in the third quarter, taking their first double digit lead at 45-35 with five minutes gone in the quarter and extending the lead to as many as 21 points before the final buzzer sounded.

-Franklin shot 43.1% (31-for-72) on the afternoon and 47.4% in the second half to pull away from the Quakers.
-Defensively, the Grizzlies limited Earlham to 32.4% (23-for-71) shooting.
