LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Franklin women's basketball team hit the road for the final time in the regular season on Tuesday (Feb. 13) evening, heading south to take on #2-ranked Transylvania.
The Grizzlies (15-9, 10-7 HCAC) fell to the nationally-ranked Pioneers (24-0, 17-0 HCAC) by an 88-47 count.Â
How it Happened
The Grizzlies surged back from an early deficit with a 7-0 run, capped by a
Lauren Barker three that made it 13-12 Franklin with two minutes to go in the opening quarter. Transylvania closed out the opening quarter with a 9-0 run to make it 21-13 after one and the Pioneers stretched their lead to 40-27 at the break. The second half saw Transylvania clamp down on defense and continue to stretch their lead the rest of the night.Â
