RICHMOND, Ind. – The Franklin men's basketball team opened the final week of the regular season on Saturday (Feb. 10) afternoon, taking on the Earlham Quakers.
Four Franklin (12-11, 10-6 HCAC) starters finished the night in double figures, but the Grizzlies dropped a heart-breaker to the Quakers (5-18, 5-11 HCAC) by a 75-74 score, ending Franklin's two-game winning streak.
How it Happened
The Grizzlies opened the game on a 15-5 run and would lead by as many as 11 in the opening half, but the Quakers' nine three-pointers kept the game in striking distance as Franklin would take a 44-37 lead into the break.
Franklin opened the second half by stretching their lead to a game-high 16 at 57-41 with 16 minutes to play. But Earlham chipped away at the lead and Franklin's offense notched just one field goal over the final four minutes of play as the hosts earned a comeback win.

-The Grizzlies shot 48.4% (30-for-62) from the field and went 10-for-21 from three. Defensively, the Grizzlies held Earlham to 41.5% (27-for-65) shooting, but Earlham finished with 13 threes and eight made free throws to four for Franklin.

-Rebounds were 38-34 in Earlham's favor with King's eight boards leading all Franklin players.
