NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Playing their final road game of the season, the Franklin volleyball team took on the Manchester Spartans in a mid-week conference matchup.
The Grizzlies and Spartans went the distance in the match, but Manchester was able to come away with a win in five sets, 16-25, 25-20, 25-14, 18-25, 15-7.
The Grizzlies closed out the first set in dominant fashion, scoring eight of the final nine points to go ahead by a game. Manchester battled back to take the next two sets and got off to a fast start in game four, but the Grizzlies pulled off a huge run to take control of the fourth set and ride it out to force a decisive fifth set.
But Manchester would take nine of the first 12 points in game five and Franklin couldn't dig out of that early hole and earn a comeback win.
